Brad’s Horseback Coveys | Kansas Quail Hunting



Depending upon one’s feelings regarding the necessity of killing a bobwhite to call a day spent afield a “hunt” yesterday may, or may not, have qualified as a hunt. Despite the fact that we didn’t bother to carry our guns it certainly felt like bobwhite hunting. And what a bobwhite hunt!

A friend invited me, and my dogs, to join him for a day of horseback hunting in Kansas. The country was stark, beautiful and full of history. The company was comfortable and entertaining. Dot, Lilly and Gracie all got finds leaving poor old Ellie Mae as the odd dog out. It was my first time to ride up on dogs on point and it damned sure won’t be my last! Thanks Brad!

Kansas Pheasant Hunting With A Young German Shorthaired Pointer



We had a great time on a Kansas rooster hunt with our young German Shorthaired Pointer, Hex! We did an entire training video series on his development as a puppy and it was awesome that we got to show the culmination of all of his hard work in a fun highlight reel of his Kansas rooster hunt! This video is a fun watch full of great tips and tricks if you are taking a young dog hunting and how to work through some of the things that can happen in the field with young dogs!
