That’s the question Tony asks Maria of Maria is joined by PGA Professional Gideon Traub of Gideon explains that it’s a very common issue he sees with amateurs and is a common reason for a slice.

Gideon explains that as you take the club back and get to the top of your backswing, you have essentially “wound up” and the easiest way to unwind is to start with moving your front hip towards your target.

If you front hip moves towards your target to start your downswing, everything else will follow properly.Your arms and shoulders will then follow your front hip, instead of leading, allowing you to hit the golf ball better.
